The ‘Majestically Magical’ four star Hillgrove Hotel, Leisure and Spa is the ultimate Family Holiday venue. Proprietors, Colm and Audri Herron understand the value and importance of a family Hotel, having learned what is required from their five year old daughter Scarlett! “We realised how few Hotel’s inIrelandreally know how to cater properly for families. Hotel’s abroad seem to have it down to a fine art, so we decided it was time to provide the best facilities possible for every family looking for a short break or a week away. We now provide exciting tailor made packages and entertainment for families throughout the year”.

Ok, so what makes the Hillgrove Hotel so Family Friendly then? Firstly, the Hotel is situated minutes walk from Monaghan town, set in private grounds away from busy roads. The Hotel lobby is extremely spacious and welcoming, as are the family bedrooms, there are also interconnecting rooms available. The Leisure Club has a Kids Pool, Family Changing Rooms, Swim Suit Dryers, Popcorn Machine, Goodie Vending Machines and Kids Ride-on. Scalliwag’s Kids Club runs daily during school holidays from11amto1pmand again in the evening from7pmto9pm, including a supervised mealtime, so Mum and Dad can relax and have dinner alone if they wish. Twinkles Creche is open every midweek morning from10amtilnoon, so parents can enjoy a spa treat, hair do or a complimentary exercise class in the aerobics studio. There are also weekly Kids Splash Times in the pool and also Mother and Toddler Sessions. Every Friday at5pmthere is an hour of Fit Kidz for children from4to 12 years to exercise and get fit! The Hotel also has a Resident's Games Room, which includes a 6 foot Pool Table, PC with internet, Nintendo Wii Console, Playstation Console,DVDand TV with lots of games and dvds, Table Top Football Game, gated toddlers play area with lots of toys, books and more to entertain your Children (and your big Children too!!) during your visit. Every Sunday between3pmand5pm, the kids are entertained by ‘Hilly the Hillgrove Clown’ and every Tuesday evening in July and August (and weekly during other school holidays throughout the year) they provide a 2 hour Children’s Entertainment Show with Magic, Balloon Modelling and lots of tricks and fun. The Hotel also have a bouncy castle on-site, can things get any more exciting than that?! In addition to all this, the Hillgrove Hotel provide delicious children’s menus, which include many healthy options too. They also cater for children’s Birthday parties. The Hotel can also organise babysitting for you and the following local activities, (charges apply): Horse-riding, Animal Farm, Pitch & Putt, Cinema, Bowling, Park Walks, Water Slides, Quad Biking, Planetarium and much more.

A little bit of information now for Mum and Dad. The Hillgrove has 87beautifully decorated bedrooms including De-lux rooms and Suites with Jacuzzis. Their Leisure Club includes a Swimming Pool, Feature Pool, Kids Pool, Jacuzzi, Steam Room, Sauna, Outdoor Hot Tub, Gym and Aerobics Studio. The luxurious Lir Spa & Wellness Centre has 7 Treatment Rooms with over 80 treatments and therapies available. It also has a Mud Rasul, Hydrotherapy Pool, Herbal Sauna, Pedi Spas, Ice Fountain, Experience Showers, Floatation Bed, Relaxation Room and Tanning Rooms. There is also a Hair Salon, Crèche and Coffee Dock in the Leisure Wing.

The Hotel’s Vettriano Restaurant offers excellent cuisine and extensive wines, and in addition to this, the lively a Knuttel Bar serves bar food all day and has karaoke weekly. The Toulouse-Lautrec Resident’s Lounge is also available to unwind at any time.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE

Due to Health & Safety, it is compulsory to wear Flip Flops and hats in the pool area, they are available to purchase for a small fee at the Leisure Centre or guests may bring their own.
