Family Friendly Hotels Monaghan 

Ok, so what makes the Hillgrove Hotel so Family Friendly then?  Firstly, the Hotel is situated minutes walk from Monaghan town, set in private grounds away from busy roads. The Hotel lobby is extremely spacious and welcoming, as are the family bedrooms, there are also interconnecting rooms available.  The Leisure Club has a Kids Pool, Family Changing Rooms, Swim Suit Dryers, Creche (2 day's a week only), Popcorn Machine, Goodie Vending Machines and Kids Ride-on. Scalliwag’s Kids Club runs daily during school holidays from 11am to 1pm and again in the evening from 7pm to 9pm. 

There are also weekly Kids Splash Times in the pool and also Mother and Toddler Sessions. Every Friday at 5pm there is an hour of Fit Kidz for children from 4 to 12 years to exercise and get fit!  The Hotel also has a Resident's Games Room, which includes a 6 foot Pool Table, PC with internet, Nintendo Wii Console, Playstation Console, DVD and TV with lots of games and dvds, Table Top Football Game, gated toddlers play area with lots of toys, books and more to entertain your Children (and your big Children too!!) during your visit. Due to last minute breakages, caused by tiny hands, we cannot guarantee everything stated here will be available during your stay. However, we do our best to replace broken items as quickly as possible. 

Every Sunday between 3pm and 5pm, the kids are entertained by ‘Hilly the Hillgrove Clown’ and every Tuesday evening in July and August (and weekly during other school holidays throughout the year) they provide a 2 hour Children’s Entertainment Show with Magic, Balloon Modelling and lots of tricks and fun.  The Hotel also have a bouncy castle on-site, can things get any more exciting than that?!  In addition to all this, the Hillgrove Hotel provide delicious children’s menus, which include many healthy options too. They also cater for children’s Birthday parties.  The Hotel can also organise babysitting for you and the following local activities, (charges apply):  Horse-riding, Animal Farm, Pitch & Putt, Cinema, Bowling, Park Walks, Water Slides, Quad Biking, Planetarium and much more.

A little bit of information now for Mum and Dad.  The Hillgrove has 87 beautifully decorated bedrooms including De-lux rooms and Suites with Jacuzzis.  Their Leisure Club includes a Swimming Pool, Feature Pool, Kids Pool, Jacuzzi, Steam Room, Sauna, Outdoor Hot Tub, Gym and Aerobics Studio. The luxurious Lir Spa & Wellness Centre has 7 Treatment Rooms with over 80 treatments and therapies available.  It also has a Mud Rasul, Hydrotherapy Pool, Herbal Sauna, Pedi Spas, Ice Fountain, Experience Showers, Floatation Bed, Relaxation Room and Tanning Rooms.  There is also a Hair Salon, Crèche and Coffee Dock in the Leisure Wing.

The Hotel’s Vettriano Restaurant offers excellent cuisine and extensive wines, and in addition to this, the lively a Knuttel Bar serves bar food all day and has karaoke weekly.  The Toulouse-Lautrec Resident’s Lounge is also available to unwind at any time.

The Hillgrove Hotel, Leisure & Spa is ideally located one hour from Belfast and one hour from Dublin.  With a wide variety of activities such as Murder Mysteries, Theatre Evenings, Golf, Fishing, Archery, Rally Driving, Paint-balling, Water Sports, Museums, Theatre and Shopping.  Special activity weekends include, Murder Mysteries, Girlie Escapes, Sex And The City Breaks,CSIweekends and much much more. 

Bring a Babysitter or Granny with you and let them stay in an adjoining room to yours for only €65 including breakfast.  Dinners are charged extra, with 4 courses for adults at €25 each and 3 course children’s menu from  €12.50 each.  Children’s meals can be ordered course by course also, with starters from €1.80, main courses from €7.50 and desserts from €2.50.  These offers are available throughout the summer.
