Monaghan Museum
Monaghan County Museum has been serving the people of Monaghan for over 40 years. During which, it has diversified to match the needs of a changing community. This award-winning museum has a professional commitment to excellence in caring for and displaying its collection, as well as making that collection as accessible as possible both intellectually and physically.

Sliabh Beagh Adventures
is an outdoor adventure centre based in Knockatallon Village, Co. Monaghan – the gateway to Sliabh Beagh. Sliabh Beagh is an area of upland heathland, blanket bog and outstanding natural beauty that transcends counties Monaghan, Fermanagh and Tyrone.
Sliabh Beagh Adventures offers bike hire to travelling visitors, allowing them to explore the region on two wheels. They also offer battle and target archery and various team games and team-building exercises for groups. Guided walks and cycling tours can also be organised.

Bushmills Distillery
Just 90 minutes from the hotel is Ireland’s oldest whiskey distillery. Home to the ultimate Bushmills experience, you can not only watch whiskey-making take place, you can also enjoy a wee taster too as they unlock the secrets of 400 years of distilling at the home of Irish whiskey.

Titanic Belfast
Built in 2012, Titanic Belfast is the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience and one of the island’s most popular attractions. This must-see, interactive exhibition is a monument to Belfast’s famous maritime heritage and is built on the historic site of the former Harland & Wolff shipyard, where the RMS Titanic was built.

The Giant’s Causeway
The world-famous Giant’s Causeway is said to have been carved out of the earth by a giant called Finn McCool. Just 90 minutes from the hotel, you can see for yourself how this is the only likely explanation for what is a truly mind-blowing sight. If you’re into walking, the Giant’s Causeway is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a haven for walkers and birdwatchers alike.

Newgrange
Older then the pyramids of Egypt, Newgrange is a 5,200 year old passage tomb located in the Boyne Valley in Ireland’s Ancient East. Built by Stone Age farmers, the world-famous mound is contains a 19-metre passage that leads into a mysterious chamber with 3 alcoves. People from all around the world come here on the Winter Solstice to watch as the passage and chamber are align with the rising sun.

The Patrick Kavanagh Centre
Housing a beautiful exhibition on Ireland’s most-famous and important poet and novelist, this centre features a sixty-seat audio-visual theatre and research library. Also on view are twelve specially commissioned paintings illustrating Kavanagh’s epic poem “The Great Hunger”, a miniature model depicting Kavanagh’s classic “A Christmas Childhood”, Kavanagh’s own death mask and other memorabilia associated with the great man.

It’s the happiest place to be! Fairies with their tiny wings, fly from tree to tree. And if you look closely, you might see them flying on a bumblebee.

Monaghan Town Parkrun 

Keep fit while staying with us and enjoy the local Monaghan town parkrun. A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you! The park run takes place every Saturday at 9:30am from Rossmore Forest Park. Forgot your runners? Not a problem! The local sports shop is offering a rental service coming soon, for more details please contact the reception team.
